Rotaract Accra Donates to Psychiatric Hospital launch Fabrics of Life Project

Rotaract Club of Accra South visited the Accra Psychiatric Hospital on the National Volunteer Day, painted one of the wards, cleanup selected portions of the hospital and engage the inmates in conversation, and also launch a clothing donation project titled “Fabrics of Life” (Donating 100,000 pieces of clothing to at least 20,000 people) which will involve setting up a pop out shop and allowing inmates shop ‘free’ for some clothes. #NVDay #IMGBT

Patriot UCC Chapter: Report on Cleanup Exercises at the University of Cape Coast Hospital and Cape Coast Metropolitan Assembly #nvday

On Saturday 21st of September 2013, marked the National Volunteer Day and also the Founder’s Day which was  in celebration of the birth of the first president of Ghana(Dr. Kwame Nkrumah), a group of  Eleven(11) students from Patriots Ghana-University of Cape Coast Chapter collaborated with Ghanathink Foundation to organise a cleanup exercise at the University of Cape Coast Hospital Children’s Ward and also at the Offices of the Cape Coast Metropolitan Assembly where Patriots UCC  also collaborated with the Zoomlion and the workers (of Cape Coast Metropolitan Assembly) to do a cleanup exercise.

This blog is an exercise in using the digital frontier to enable volunteerism. We at Sygil Media have created this platform to curate the stories and content surrounding the 2013 National Volunteer Day in Ghana. Official hashtags are #nvday13  and #nvday

Some of our team members will be on the field with some of the volunteer groups, gathering and relaying the  experiences, sights and sounds. We will also be collaborating with photographers, bloggers designers etc. , at the various  locations to help generate content.
